Happy Palentine’s Day Graphic
I’m all about holiday spirit, but this one gets every year…
Sunday 2.9
Scenes from the Super Bown Halftime Show
Someone DID NOT like the patriotism at the halftime show. [1][2]
Monday 2.10
The Palestinian Authority (PA) has a policy of incentivizing terrorism by paying perpetrator’s families based on prison sentence lengths. In 2018, the U.S. passed a bill that prevents contributions to the PA until they end the practice.
The body announced on Monday that it would end the program. Reports uncovered they will maintain a backdoor to continue the payments through an independent foundation. America and Israel caught the bluff. [3][4]
Tuesday 2.11
President Trump and King Abdullah of Jordan
President Trump and King Abdullah of Jordan met. Going into the meeting, the King rejected any plan to absorb Palestinians. He eventually relented, agreeing to take 2,000 children. I bet it had nothing to do with the $1 billion+ in aid they receive from the U.S. annually… [5][6][7]
Wednesday 2.12
Hamas claimed that Israel broke a condition of the deal, resulting in a delay of the Saturday hostage release. Trump retorted “I don’t think they’re going to make the deadline personally… they want to play tough guy, but we’ll see how tough they are.”
Israel followed by moving troops to the border in a pledge to restart the war. The deal quickly came back on track. [8]
Thursday 2.13
Elbridge Colby
Many Republicans are upset by Trump’s appointment of Elbridge Colby as the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy. He demonstrated beliefs that the U.S. should pull back from the Middle East, do less to counter Iran, and recently hired isolationists in the Pentagon. These disagreements have been expected by many in what Axios says “might be the most ideologically diverse cabinet of modern times.” [9][10]
Friday 2.14
Shout out to Azerbaijan for joining Israel in sending a second Jew to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Asaf Mishiev is a proud citizen of the Muslim majority country that “has no antisemitism.” Azerbaijan was the first Muslim-majority country to teach about the Holocaust and define antisemitism in its textbooks. It is also an ally of Israel. That’s what I call ☪☮𝔼✡⚧☯✝ance! [11]
Saturday 2.15
Sagui Dekel-Chen, Sasha Troufanov, Iair Horn
Hamas released three hostages in exchange for 369 Palestinian prisoners. Sagui Dekel-Chen, Sasha Troufanov, and Iair Horn are in better condition than those released last week. Following extended foot-dragging, the deal lives on to see another week. [12][13]
